Pre-natal and Birth services
My role as a Doula is to support and empower you to birth your baby!
Our initial meeting as an opportunity for us to meet and see if we are a good fit, I would always encourage you to meet a number of Doulas before making a final decision.
Following this initial meeting, my aim is to work closely with you and your partner to create a bespoke pre-natal package to discuss your pregnancy and help to prepare you for your upcoming birth.
Together we can talk through:
St. Michaels & Southmead hospitals and Cosham Midwifery led unit should you opt for a hospital birth.
Research shows that having a Doula supported birth leads to:
Nurturing Birth have undertaken some research in to the value of doulas in the UK in 2013.
This has been published in MIDIRS, the midwifery journal, in June 2014 and taken to the International Conference of Midwives in Prague.

- 50% reduction in cesarean rates
- 25% shorter labour
- 60% reduction in epidural requests
- 30% reduction in analgesia usage
- 40% reduction in forceps delivery

Post Natal Services
As your post-natal doula I can offer
- Support after a caesarean birth
- Help with visitors
- Support with breastfeeding and put you in touch with a breastfeeding counsellor if needed.
- Give you an opportunity to rest
- Dog walking
- Some help around the house
- Help with cooking
- Make tea and coffee
- I will always bring cake!
- Help with your other children
- Put you in touch with local baby groups.
- advise around cloth nappys (if planning to use)
- ......and anything you might need to settle in while adjusting to motherhood!
